Following Their Steps

Have you ever seen a child,

running around, rebellious and wild?

Or see a child, calm and sweet,

with quiet and peaceable feet.

These important qualities,

show their teacher’s strengths and fallacies.

For those little staring eyes,

see what their peers love and despise.

Look how the father is impolite to his wife,

now between son and mother there is strife.

Watch how the mother gossips behind her husband’s back,

now by the daughter, he is under attack.

But if she is sweet and kind,

so will her daughter be likemind.

Or if he is upright and just,

the son will follow, as he must.

So as the Father for perfection stands,

we must follow His pure commands.

Yes, we must follow His steps,

so that they might see ours.

That they will learn His truth and concepts,

and submit to His mighty powers.
